PONOROGO, PEWARTA.CO.ID – The installation of campaign materials (APK) for the Ponorogo Regional Election, facilitated by the General Election Commission (KPU), has officially begun. These materials are being placed in key strategic locations, including both main roads and rural areas throughout Ponorogo.

Field observations show that the KPU-provided campaign materials have already started to appear in various locations. One prominent site is at the Tonatan village intersection, a central area in Ponorogo. R. Gaguk Ika Prayitna, the head of Ponorogo KPU, confirmed the progress.

"The APK facilitated by the KPU for both candidates has been in the process of installation for some time," said the KPU chairman in an interview quoted by Tribun Jatim on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Gaguk, as he is commonly known, explained that each candidate running for the district-level election is given five billboards, strategically placed at significant entry points to Ponorogo.

"One is placed in the city center of Ponorogo, while the other four are positioned at key entrances to the district," he said, as reported by the same source.

In addition to billboards, the KPU has also provided flags as part of the visual campaign tools. Each subdistrict will have ten flags for each candidate.

“The flags are the tall ones. Each subdistrict gets 10 flags per candidate,” he added during a meeting at the Ponorogo KPU office.

Besides billboards and flags, banners are also part of the campaign tools provided by the KPU. Each village in Ponorogo will receive one banner for each candidate. With 307 villages in total, this means that 614 banners will be installed.

"There will be two banners for each village, resulting in 614 banners in total," he explained.

During the installation process, the KPU Ponorogo ensures that the placement of these campaign tools follows an agreement between the two candidates. To maintain fairness and neutrality, the APK for both candidates is installed side by side.

“It has been agreed that the APKs should not overlap. They must be placed side by side for both candidates,” concluded Gaguk.

This campaign material installation aims to raise public awareness in Ponorogo regarding the upcoming regional election. With these materials placed in strategic spots, it is expected that the residents will have easier access to information about the candidates' visions and missions.
