The global media and hospitality company based in the United Kingdom selected the hotels based on factors including striking views, distinctive interiors, remarkable architecture, and attractive surroundings.
Time Out said its global team of editors, writers, and hotel experts visited the properties before selecting them for their exceptional qualities. The full 2026 selection recognizes 33 hotels worldwide, with the following 13 occupying the top positions.
1. Ashford Castle, Ireland
Ashford Castle takes the top spot as Time Out’s most beautiful hotel in the world and is described as the best heritage hotel on the list.
The castle has been a landmark since 1228 and has been associated over the centuries with aristocrats, the Guinness family, and guests including Oscar Wilde.
2. Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota, Japan
Set within the volcanic landscape of Miyota in Nagano, Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota stands out for its scenery and carefully considered design.
The retreat blends subtly into its surroundings, with details reflecting Japanese hospitality, from prehistoric pottery fragments to refined interiors.
3. Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, Italy
Four Seasons Hotel Firenze occupies a 15th-century Renaissance palazzo surrounded by 11 hectares of landscaped gardens.
