PEWARTA.CO.ID — Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 17 Series in Indonesia on September 16, 2026, with the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G drawing attention for its 10,000 mAh battery, the largest battery capacity Xiaomi has introduced in the Indonesian market.
The new Redmi Note generation is being positioned as a durable, long-term smartphone lineup, with Xiaomi Indonesia highlighting performance, battery endurance and build quality as key selling points.
Four Redmi Note 17 models planned
The Redmi Note 17 Series is expected to arrive in four variants: the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 17 5G and the standard Redmi Note 17.
Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia Andi Renreng said the new series is intended to strengthen Redmi's position as a smartphone brand offering both affordability and strong performance for long-term use.
“Through the Redmi Note 17 Series, we want to continue that trust with Redmi Titan Quality, giving users an all-around smartphone ready to accompany them as they do more,” Andi said in an official statement cited Monday, September 14.
The launch is scheduled for September 16, with detailed technical specifications and official Indonesian pricing expected to be disclosed during the event.
Pro Max highlights 10,000 mAh battery
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G is the standout model in the lineup, featuring a 10,000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi says the capacity is the largest it has offered in Indonesia and is paired with an intelligent power management system designed to improve efficiency for users with demanding mobility needs and reduce reliance on a power bank.
The battery capacity is expected to be one of the main highlights of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G when the series officially launches.
Redmi emphasizes durability
Battery capacity is not the only area Xiaomi is highlighting ahead of the launch. The company is also promoting durability across the Redmi Note 17 lineup.
All Redmi Note 17 models have obtained durability certification from independent testing organization TÜV SÜD, which Xiaomi says reflects improved resistance to drops compared with the previous generation.
The durability focus is part of Xiaomi's Redmi Titan Quality concept, which the company is using to position the new lineup around more robust everyday use.
While several key features have already been revealed, Xiaomi has yet to disclose the full technical specifications and official prices for the Indonesian market. Those details are expected to be announced at the Redmi Note 17 Series launch on September 16.
